A 50/50 Shot with Cognac and Amaro

Hardy Cocktail

Hailing from the great state of Wisconsin, I’ve heard the spirit, brandy or cognac, thrown about a bit. Have you ever had a mid-western brandy old fashioned? We’re kinda famous for making them at all the corner bars. Unsurprisingly, they were usually made with bottom shelf booze, and most of the flavor was lost with the over powering of lemon/lime, cherry juice, and sugar. So I was thrilled to work with Hardy, and style recipes that really gave their spirits the spotlight. And what better way to do it than with a quick little 50/50 recipe. I used a flavorful dandelion liqueur to pair their cognac with, but I’d recommend testing out other Amaros with your cognac too, to find out what flavor balances you enjoy. Here’s a starter for you:

Hardy Cocktail
